We are thrilled to announce that two of our outstanding EUSD educators were recently honored at the 25th annual Leadership in Biliteracy Symposium!
Congratulations to:
Aidee Rojas (Dual Language Program Teacher, Glen View Elementary) for her significant contributions and advocacy for bilingualism.
Rocío Hernández (Dual Language Program Teacher, Pioneer Elementary) for her dedicated leadership and commitment to promoting biliteracy for our students.
These awards are a testament to the hard work, passion, and innovation our teachers bring to the classroom every day to ensure our students succeed in a multilingual world. Thank you, Aidee and Rocío, for your inspiring work and for championing our language programs!

Here are this week’s updates and reminders.
Last Chance for Round 1 Applications for the 2026-27 Before and After School Program (BASP)
The Expanded Learning Program opened the 2026-27 Before- and After-School Program Interest Form on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. An email with details and a link to the form was sent to all current EUSD families. The form was also posted on our website, so families of incoming or new students may also express their interest. Please note that enrollment is not first-come, first-served. Our programs are funded through the California Department of Education (CDE), and priority enrollment will be given to foster/homeless youth, students eligible for free or reduced price meals, and English learners. If interest exceeds space available, a lottery will be conducted. While the interest form will remain open throughout the 2026-27 school year, the first round of applications will be reviewed in May. The deadline for form submission to be considered for Round 1 is Friday, May 8, 2026. 2026-27 Before and After School Program (BASP) Interest Form
Preschool applications:
EUSD State Preschool will begin accepting online applications for the 2026-2027 school year beginning May 5, 2026. Visit the preschool website to access the application. Applications will be accepted for children who will be age 3 by December 1, 2026. If your child will turn 3 during the 2026-2027 school year, you can apply on or after their birthday. Preschool classes are available at seven EUSD elementary schools: Central, Juniper, Glen View, Lincoln, Oak Hill, Pioneer, and Rose. EUSD Preschool is offered through the California State Preschool Program and licensed through the California Department of Social Services. Eligibility for the program is based on household income; however, there are additional opportunities for families who may qualify to participate in the EUSD State Preschool Program based on residing within the boundaries of one of our sites. In addition, students with IEPs also qualify for the State Preschool program. To learn more, visit the EUSD Preschool website or email preschoolenrollment@eusd.org. For Special Education Preschool options, including our responsive interventions and inclusive programs, contact the team at spedsupport@eusd.org.
CAASPP Testing Reminder
CAASPP testing for students in grades 3–8 is currently underway and will continue through May 22. Each school has its own testing schedule.
Please help your student be ready by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and come prepared to do their best.
Summer on the horizon:
As we head into the final month of the 2025-2026 school year, be sure to stay connected with your school site for the schedule of end-of-the-year events, including on-campus promotion ceremonies and the collection of all district-issued materials such as textbooks and iPads. Every school day counts when it comes to student success, and we appreciate your support of consistent student attendance for a strong finish to the school year. The last day of school for students is Wednesday, June 10. It is a minimum day for students. Please review the bell schedule for your child’s school.
Resources for Food Assistance
We want to make sure families are aware of local resources that offer free food and support for those who may need it. Here are a few options available in our community:
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help connecting with these resources.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus:
All EUSD students have access to no-cost breakfast and lunch. Families can view our new online menus. Select your school and menu to see what is being served every day.
