Friendly Reminder: No Cell Phones/Apple Watches Allowed!

Parents, as noted in our Parent Handbook (linked below), during the school day, student cell phones are to be turned off and stored in backpacks. Smart watches need to be set to "School Mode" so they cannot send/receive text messages during the school day. If your student brings a cell phone or smartwatch to school, please help them understand they are here to learn. If the calls continue, students may be asked not to wear them at school. Bernardo Families, come join the PTA! We are 25% away from reaching our membership goal of 325 PTA members for 2025–2026. Whether you want to get in the game or cheer from the sidelines, your membership makes a real difference for our school community.

Sign up before September 12th to be entered into a drawing for the reserved PTA Parking Spot, yours to use for the entire month of October! Anyone can sign up like grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents, as well as your neighbors. They all count towards our goal and it increases your chances to win!

Morning Greeter Opportunity Deadline is this Wednesday, 8/27/25. Be the Change you wish to see in the World!
We're looking for friendly, caring, and dependable students in grades 2-5.
Morning greeters are expected to:
* Follow the Bernardo School rules at all times. Be safe, be respectful, be responsible, and be scholarly.
* Display positive behavior in their classroom and around Bernardo School.
* Be dependable, and show up on time (7:35am) to greet on their assigned day each week.

Hello Mountaineers! Today is Early Dismissal Thursday at 12:15pm for all students, please plan accordingly to pick up your student on time. Make sure to have your teacher/student name sign up on your dashboard for a speedier pick-up. Also, don't forget about our awesome "Annual Ice Cream Social" happening tomorrow, Friday the 22nd from 6 to 7pm, to enjoy a free sweet treat, so bring the whole family out and socialize with other Bernardo peeps! Wednesday, August 22nd - Parents get to walk their students to their classrooms one last time!
Thursday, August 21st - Bernardo Spirit Day; 8:15am we'll have our First Fire Drill, and it's our first Early Dismissal Thursday at 12:15 pm, please don't forget to pick up your student on time!
Friday, August 22nd- PTA sponsored Ice Cream Social from 6 to 7 pm. See you there!
