Birthday Books
We would like to help make your child’s birthday a meaningful one, and would like to suggest a fun and memorable way to celebrate this special day at school.
How about letting your child treat his/her classroom to a special story, and the rest of the school to a special book purchased right here at Bernardo?
Here’s how you can do that – Email Mrs. Tracy prior to your child’s birthday, and purchase a book that is as special as your child. We have many fun and exciting books to choose from!
After choosing and purchasing the book, a special bookplate “donated by” will be affixed inside the book with your student’s name and whatever you choose to add. You may then, either take the book home and wrap it for your student to bring to school on their special day or take it directly to the classroom. Your student’s teacher will be happy to share the book in class and afterward your student may bring the book to the library as a special donation.
If you purchase a book from the library, the book will already be shelf-ready, and it will only take a couple of minutes to catalog the book and put it on the shelf for immediate checkout. If you choose to bring your own, make sure the book is hardcover to ensure it will last through several years of reading.
This book will become a permanent part of the Bernardo Library. What a nice way for your child to share his/her birthday with everyone for years and sharing his/her birthday as a giver, rather than a receiver, is a really good concept.
